Results: the season so far.
I haven’t updated for the last couple of weeks so here are a run down of the teams results over the last 2 weeks with 4 of the UWA teams sitting atop their respective tables (UWA More Than A Feeling, UWA Womens Division 2, UWA Premier Reserves and UWA Division 4 Reserves)
Amatuer Premier
After an faltering first few weeks, the Amatuer Premier team has found its feet winning it’s last two games against Subiaco (2-1) and Joondalup (4-1) including a screamer from Mani Arapis against Subiaco. The team currently sits in 5th, two games behind Shamrock Rovers in first.
Amatuer Premier Reserves
The reserves have always shown UWA’s strength in depth and yet again they sit top of the table with only one loss for the season and convincing wins over Subiaco (6-1) and Joondalup (4-2) in recent weeks.
Womens Premier
After a bitterly dissapointing start to the season which saw the ladies squander leads against three of last seasons top five teams. The ladies bounced back in style by holding last seasons champions to a 2-2 draw after leading and then destroying Gosnells 6-0 the following week.
Womens Premier Reserves
The ressies also managed to turn around a poor start to the season to register two convincing wins on the trot, outclassing Queens Park (3-1) and then thumping Gosnells City to the tune of 10 goals with MM Gauci scoring 4.
Amatuer Division 4
The Div 4 juggernaut finally hit a wall on the weekend when they lost their top of the table clash with Wembley Downs in a close one (2-1). The previous week they had gone to Stirling and come away with a convincing 6-1 win. They currently sit clear in second spot on the table.
Amatuer Division 4 Reserves
The Div 4 ressies are sitting pretty at the top of the table winning their last two games against Wembley Downs (4-2) and Stirling (4-0).
Womens Division 2
Andy Daykins team have bounced back from an opening day loss to fight their way to the top of the Division 2 table. A 4-1 win against Queens Park was followed by a very hard fought 3-2 win over Curtin in the University Derby.
Womens Division 4
Gavin Sit’s team having looked out of their depth early in the season look to be finding form in recent weeks with their performances increasing markedly. The weekend saw them lose a share of the points in the final minutes after tying the scores at 1-1 at half time.
Womens Division 6
After securing the services of long time Macgillas member Jona Turle, the Div 6 girls are building up to their opening win of the season. Jona has made huge strides with his group of enthusiastic players and they are expecting their first win to be just around the corner.
Social Division 1 - UWA Laterals
Only one game in the last 2 weeks for the Laterals saw them win 1-0 over Gosnells. They currently sit third on the table with a game in hand.
Social South Division 1 - UWA More Than A Feeling
The MTAF are not finding it easy after stepping up a division this season but after 5 games they find themselves not having dropped a point, with key players still to return and one goal conceded (and a ridiculously crap one at that) over all their games. In recent weeks they have battled out at tough 1-0 win over Curtin in the University Derby and then a 1-0 win against East Fremantle.
Social South Division 2 - UWA 49ers
The 49ers are motoring along in 3rd however suffered a loss against Mandurah (1-3) on the weekend after recording a win the week before against East Fremantle (5-0)
Social North Division 2 - UWA Macgillas
Chris Higgs men are slowly picking up form after an influx of new players at the start of the season.
Social North Division 3 - UWA Real Ale
With an extended league of 13 teams it’s hard to say where the UWA boys sit on the incomplete table, 2 weeks ago they broke through for their maiden win against Swan United but could only follow up with a 4-2 loss to Heathridge last week.
